About

Our mission is to have an outsized positive impact on Australian nature and the global climate.

Who We Are

We identify outsized opportunities in Australia for habitat restoration and protection. With our conservation partners, we create space for reserves that protect endangered species and give them room to recover.

We partner and co-design projects with local communities, embedding collaboration into every landscape we manage.

LRX is part of Blast Group, an impact incubator dedicated to protecting and regenerating nature. Blast Group provides LRX with foundational capital, operational infrastructure, and the long-term strategic patience that nature restoration demands. It's the reason LRX can deploy its own capital to acquire and restore properties, rather than waiting for buyer commitments before acting.

Governance

We operate under high-integrity regulatory structures: the Nature Repair Market, Accounting for Nature, NSW Biodiversity Offset Scheme, and Environmental Planting method, all regulated by Australian federal and state governments.

We maintain ring-fenced stewardship funds that guarantee long-term, high-quality land management across all our properties as a structural commitment.

Our conservation and stewardship partner Barbaloot is a DGR1 registered charity, providing independent oversight and perpetual care for the landscapes in our portfolio.

Our Team

LRX brings together leaders in land management, ecology, landscape design, and data. We are ecologists and land managers who understand boardrooms, and finance folks who understand ecosystems.

Rob Laing

CEO

Rob is a two-time startup founder, author, and technology strategist. He founded Gengo.com, one of the first global human translation and artificial intelligence training platforms, in Tokyo (acquired 2019), and Farm. One, New York City's first vertical farm for chefs, growing over 700 plant varieties for Michelin-starred restaurants (acquired 2023). At Google, Rob developed the Plastic Data Platform, helping Fortune 500 CPG companies track and reduce their plastic waste globally. He is the author of Ditch the Dirt, a guide to hydroponic growing.

Glenn White
Field Operations Director

Glenn brings over 30 years of expertise in land management and livestock operations to his role as Field Operations Director. With over a decade at Dunkeld Pastoral, he has developed deep knowledge of sustainable grazing practices, cattle and livestock husbandry, and the day-to-day demands of large-scale rural operations. BARBALOOT CONSERVATION

Our partners

Barbaloot is LRX's dedicated conservation and stewardship partner: a registered DGR1 charity responsible for the long-term care of the landscapes and wildlife in our portfolio.

Founded to protect critically endangered native species, Barbaloot operates wildlife sanctuaries and conservation programmes across LRX project sites, with a particular focus on critically endangered species like the Southern Brush-tailed Rock Wallaby. The organisation manages on-ground conservation activities including habitat protection, feral predator control, and species monitoring.

The relationship between LRX and Barbaloot is structural, not cosmetic. Barbaloot provides independent, perpetual stewardship of the ecological outcomes that LRX's projects create. When we say we steward land in perpetuity, Barbaloot is how we deliver on that commitment, with its own governance, its own funding (supported by ring-fenced stewardship capital), and its own charitable mandate.

We designed this separation so that stewardship obligations survive changes in commercial ownership, market conditions, regulatory environments, or corporate strategy. It means there is an independent entity whose sole purpose is the long-term health of the land.

CLIENTS AND PARTNERS

We're building our team.

LRX is growing. We're looking for people who want to work at the intersection of ecology, data, and capital. We work with people who care about country and want to build something that lasts. If that sounds like you, we'd like to hear from you.
